Dr. Carol Hurn
Dr. Hurn, Medical Director

Dr. Hurn was born in the Pacific Northwest. After graduating from Purdue University After graduating, she decided to pursue my childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian. She attended Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and focused on preventive care, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. Small animal dentistry became one of her biggest areas of interest while working at a family practice for 12 years in Columbus, Ohio and she is very proficient at handling tough dental cases, easing the discomfort in pets that can come from dental disease. She and her husband relocated to Portland in 2009. They had visited Oregon and were drawn by the vibrant arts, music and food scene, proximity to the ocean and mountains, friendly people and the active lifestyle, and chose to make this their forever home. In 2012, she opened up City Pets Vet to serve the SouthWest Portland neighborhood.
